Gala Coral hires former Ladbrokes finance director
James Bunn takes up Gibraltar-based FD role with Gala Coral’s Interactive division just months after leaving Ladbrokes
Gala Coral has appointed former Ladbrokes executive James Bunn as finance director at its Gibraltar-based Interactive headquarters, eGaming Review has learned.
Bunn, who officially left his role as finance director at Ladbrokes in the spring, spent three years at the operator’s north-west London base before relocating to Gibraltar ahead of beginning his new role on 1 July.
The hire sees Bunn assume the responsibilities previously held by Paul Meehan, who had been made finance director on an interim basis following the merger of the Gala and Coral management teams late last year.
Meehan, who had previously been FD of Gala Interactive, has since taken up a deputy finance director role, which also includes additional business intelligence responsibilities.
Regulus Partners adds Patrick Jay to growing team
Regulus Partners has expanded its team of high-profile industry consultants with the addition of former Hong Kong Jockey Club trading director Patrick Jay and ex-GTECH commercial director William Scott.
The pair join ex-OpenBet CEO David Loveday, Dan Waugh, who served as strategy director at The Rank Group, and William Hill’s former corporate development director and Regulus founder Paul Leyland at the strategic gambling consultancy firm.
Jay recently stepped down from his role at the HKJC to move back to the UK and was one of the front runners for the Ladbrokes CEO role earlier this year, having previously served as sports and football director at the London-based operator.

“Mybet is a company I truly cherish,” Brink said. “Since January 2014, we have been able to introduce and implement many positive changes. The new mybet is on a sure path to a more sustainable, safe and profitable future.
