Betway scores Schalke partnership agreement
Online operator bolsters commercial football stable with second-tier German side

Betway has put pen to paper on a three-year sponsorship agreement with German football club Schalke 04.
Under the remit of the deal, the online operator will be afforded marketing and advertising space throughout Schalke’s home stadium, the Veltins Arena.
The partnership will commence on 1 July ahead of the 2021-22 season, with Schalke finding themselves in the second tier of the German football pyramid, the 2. Bundesliga.
The move marks another premium football sponsorship for Betway, with the operator already partnering with the likes of West Ham, Hertha Berlin, Alavés and Brighton and Hove Albion.
Maik Brodowski, Betway head of marketing for Germany, said: “It’s a great honour to be partnering with FC Schalke 04, one of the most recognised names in German football.
“We look forward to supporting the club and their ambitions to work their way back to the Bundesliga.”
Alexander Jobst, Schalke board member, added: “Together with Betway we agreed on a long-term partnership, which guarantees us security through the new legal regulation of gaming in Germany.
“We are delighted to have gained a strong partner in Betway in this ever-changing competition.”
