Flat racing rising star George Boughey partners with SBK
Newmarket trainer signs two-year deal with the sportsbook app

The sportsbook app SBK, powered by London-based betting exchange company Smarkets, has announced a two-year sponsorship deal with leading flat racing trainer George Boughey.
Newmarket-based Boughey only started training on his own in 2019, having previously been assistant to classic winning trainer Hugo Palmer. He has quickly built one of the most successful stables in the country, especially with two-year-olds.
Universally considered within the industry as one of the rising stars of the training ranks, Boughey’s 37 juvenile winners in 2021 place him fifth on the list of two-year-old winners for the calendar year.
This is SBK’s first venture into the sponsorship of a racehorse trainer and yard, although the exchange does have its own stable of jockey sponsorships with Sean Levey, Nicola Currie and Richard Kingscote on the flat as well as Page Fuller and, more recently, Tom Bellamy over jumps.
SBK spokesperson Adam Baylis said: “The opportunity to sponsor George Boughey and his yard is an incredibly exciting one for SBK. We are thrilled to be teaming up with one of the most exciting stables in the country and we can’t wait to see what George will achieve in the next two years.”
The partnership will produce regular exclusive digital content from the yard, and all will carry the logo of SBK.
Boughey said of the sponsorship: “I’m delighted to be teaming up with SBK for the next two years. It is a really exciting partnership for all of us at Saffron House Stables and hopefully we can continue to progress as a yard in 2022 and beyond.”
