SBK named as new sponsor of March’s Lincoln meeting
Smarkets’ sportsbook app unveiled as title-sponsor for flat racing’s curtain-raiser

SBK, the sportsbook app from exchange operator Smarkets, has been named as the new sponsor of the Lincoln meeting at Doncaster Racecourse.
The highlight of the meeting is the Lincoln Handicap, rebranded this year as the SBK Lincoln, which is a one-mile handicap worth £100,000.
The two-day Lincoln meeting signals the beginning of the flat season in Britain during the warmer months.
The deal, signed with Arena Racing Company (ARC), will see SBK benefit through extensive branding across Doncaster Racecourse across the two days of the meeting.
Adam Baylis, head of customer marketing at SBK, said: “We are thrilled to be sponsoring the Lincoln as part of SBK’s growing horse racing portfolio.
“The heritage handicap holds a special place in the racing calendar as the first major race of the British flat season and we look forward to being part of its rich history.”
William Haggas’ Mujatiba is currently SBK’s 5/1 ante-post favourite for the race, although he looks set to duke it out with Charlie Appleby’s Modern News at 7/1.
William Hill, Betway and Unibet are all previous sponsors of the race.
Smarkets has been particularly active when it comes to racing sponsorship of late, including recruiting a number of jockeys as brand ambassadors.
