Bet365 to sponsor British all-female boxing card
First-of-its-kind bout to be held at London’s O2 arena through operator’s partner BOXXER
The first all-female professional boxing card hosted in Britain is to be sponsored by bet365.
Headlined by the middleweight unification clash between Claressa Shields and Savanah Marshall, the Stoke-on-Trent-based operator will benefit from 360-degree branding in both the build-up to the fight and on the night at The O2 arena in London.
The company’s logo will adorn the ring canvas with additional branding in the venue.
Marshall’s manager, Mick Hennessy, has not minced his words, saying the encounter “has the potential to be the fight of the year worldwide”.
The sponsors cannot split the fighters, with a bet365 spokesperson saying: “Both fighters are 10/11 to win the bout with Marshall slightly shorter to win by KO, TKO or disqualification.
“One thing’s for sure, it’s going to be an explosive night on 10 September,” they continued.
The main support on the undercard features super-featherweight unification match between Mikaela Mayer and Alycia Baumgardner.
The deal has been announced as part of bet365’s partnership with BOXXER and Sky Sports Boxing, which was signed in September of last year.
As part of the deal between bet365 and BOXXER, the online bookmaker’s odds will continue to be advertised on the promotion company’s platforms in the build up to the fight.
