Betfred reveals âmobile firstâ Australia strategy
Operator to enter Australian market as a self-styled âmobile bookieâ, launching a sportsbook app prior to website launch
Betfred will launch its Australian business as a self-styled âmobile bookieâ. next month with various in-house developed mobile products.
A mobile sportsbook app will launch ahead of the FIFA World Cup, and the operator will also launch various apps that have been available in the UK such as Goals Galore and Hat-Trick Heaven.
Speaking to sister publication eGaming Review, Betfred.comâs Australia MD Luke Brill said it was also looking to develop and release a number of sport-specific apps for Rugby League and Aussie Rules Football as it looks to profit on the sportsâ popularity.
âWe want to be seen as a mobile bookie first and foremost,â Brill said. âWe are aiming to create a point of difference on mobile with a broad range of specific apps, including ones which will appeal to geographical sports preferences.â
The apps will be submitted to the North Territory regulator imminently, with a full launch anticipated for in May giving the operator a monthâs lead-in to the World Cup in June.
Betfredâs mobile development is handled by Degree 53, an agency the operator span off in September of last year headed up by former Betfred.com head of mobile Andy Daniels.
