Danish Gambling Authority app helps players track gambling losses
Users will receive push notifications from the system if they fail to update their winnings.

The Danish Gambling Authority (Spillemyndigheden) has released a mobile app to help players keep track of their gambling behaviours.
The MitSpil app offers a “game-tracker” that enables players to calculate how much they spend and how often they lose.
Users will receive push notifications from the system if they fail to update their winnings.
“MitSpil provides an in-depth overview of one’s consumption – both in terms of time and money,” said Michael Bay Jørsel, leader of the Centre for Compulsive Gambling in Denmark, who said problem gambling was on the rise among young people.
“It’s great if the app will be the player’s wakeup call before they get out of control,” Bay Jørsel added.
Spillemyndigheden director Birgitte Sand said: “We must always protect particularly vulnerable players from ending up in a situation where they no longer have control over their gambling, and MitSpil may be a useful tool here.
“The app is easily accessible and user-friendly, so I hope that many will find it valuable.”
The product is being marketed online via social media and across Danish national TV channels.
Spillemyndigheden said earlier this week it would also be seeking to clamp down on illegal affiliate websites, as the re-regulated market continues to mature.
