Irish TV broadcaster to launch Nektan-powered online casino
Supplier bolsters presence in Ireland with deal to provide platform and content for TV3's Ireland-facing 3Games.ie online casino site
Ireland’s largest commercial TV broadcaster TV3 Group has revealed plans to launch an online and mobile casino product through a partnership with B2B platform provider Nektan.
TV3 will use Nektan’s Evolve platform to launch a suite of real-money slots and table games on desktop, mobile and tablet under its soon-to-go-live 3Games brand.
TV3’s digital sales manager Evelyn Peters said the broadcaster’s 3Games brand would become the “new gaming destination for the Irish market”.
“We are constantly working to bring new entertainment platforms to TV3’s digital audience, increasing the level of engagement users have with our sites,” Peters added.
The partnership is the second signed by Nektan with an Irish media giant after the firm signed a similar deal with Independent News & Media, one of the country’s largest newspaper publishers.
“Our partnership on mobile, tablet and desktop with TV3 Group offer immense potential to help 3Games become one of Ireland’s leading gaming providers,” David Gosen, Nektan CEO, said.
“We are delighted to have the opportunity to play a key role in helping TV3 realise their wider digital entertainment vision,” he added.
The news comes just weeks after Nektan announced it had secured a new £7.1m financing package to help fund expansion in the US and support its growing European business.
The funding round came a just over a month after the firm warned of a need for fresh investment following a maiden £2.4m H1 loss.
Ireland’s online gaming market is currently going through a period of re-regulation with a raft new player protection measures set to follow the introduction of a new tax and licensing regime in August.
