Esports Entertainment Group lands marquee NFL deal

Esports Entertainment Group has inked a multi-year agreement with the Philadelphia Eagles to become the NFL franchise’s official esports tournament provider.

EEG will operate a bi-annual Madden NFL esports tournament for the Eagles, utilising its recently acquired Esports Gaming League (EGL) platform.

EEG will be afforded access to Eagles’ player image rights within the local market, with the pair also set to create original video content to promote the tournaments.

The Eagles are also set to become a shareholder in EEG under the remit of the new partnership.

The deal represents the first-ever of its kind for an NFL club, with EEG already being the official esports tournament organiser for NHL outfit the LA Kings and MLS clubs LA Galaxy and Philadelphia Union.
