1xBet lands esports tournament sponsorship
Online operator secures one-year deal with WePlay Esports to become official betting partner

Sports betting operator 1xBet has put pen to paper on a sponsorship agreement with esports tournament organiser WePlay Esports.
Under the remit of the agreement, 1xBet will become an official betting partner of WePlay Esports and will sponsor all of the organiser’s tournaments in 2021.
The partnership will begin with the sponsorship of the WePLay Ultimate Fighting League tournament, which takes place from 25 March to 11 April.
The tournament will see esports teams battle it out across a range of classic fighting titles, including Mortal Kombat 11, Soulcalibur VI and Tekken 7.
Alex Sommers, 1xBet spokesperson, said: “Our collaboration with WePlay Esports should have a positive impact on the esports world. Together, we are driving new content trends around tournaments and taking the interactive aspect of watching them up a notch.
“We are ready to fuel the interest of the audience in new disciplines and expand into new regions. We are confident that this new chapter of our cooperation will be even more productive and will serve as a blueprint for organising esports events,” he added.
Yevheniia Tymofieieva, WePlay Esports EMEA sales lead, commented: “The WePlay Ultimate Fighting League Season 1 is the first big tournament in 2021, and it’s also the next step in our long-term partnership with 1xBet.
“When holding tournaments, we strive to give the audience the best possible experience, and this is where the common ground for our partnership was found,” she concluded.
