BoyleSports rings the executive changes as digital MD departs
Irish operator pledges to recruit a new CMO as Entain’s Ryan Thurburn arrives in director of product position

BoyleSports has restructured its executive team with several new hires due to the imminent departure of digital MD Eddie Bennett, EGR Intel has learned.
After five years with the Irish operator, Bennett will move back to the UK on a permanent basis from 10 December after deciding to leave his Gibraltar-based online role.
EGR understands Bennett’s decision triggered a review into the existing structure and leadership of the business, which led to CEO Mark Kemp executing the changes across his management team.
Entain’s Ryan Thurburn will join BoyleSports on 1 December as director of product after leaving the same position at the FTSE 100 operator’s Ladbrokes Coral sportsbook department.
In his new role, Thurburn will lead product managers, UX, CX and business analysts across the operator’s digital, retail and omni-channel product portfolio.
Additionally, BoyleSports has pledged to hire a new CMO to replace Bennett’s digital MD role and responsibilities.
A search is currently underway for the right candidate, who will eventually manage marketing and brand strategy in Ireland and the UK, as well as internationally.
Finally, the operator has appointed GamCare’s Hayley Smith as its new head of compliance and internal audit. Smith, who has also worked for Gala Coral and Buzz Bingo, will again join the firm in December.
She will take over the duties of Terry Minford, who is currently head of governance, risk and compliance at BoyleSports.
Minford will then pivot into the newly created role of head of IT governance and risk, where he will work closely with chief technology officer Sean Convery.
