OpenBet to increase headcount by 10%
Sportsbook and gaming supplier launches recruitment drive to power omni-channel development

OpenBet has kicked-off a significant recruitment drive as it looks to add approximately 50 staff members to further the development of its omni-channel product offering, eGaming Review has learned.
The sportsbook and gaming supplier, which currently has a headcount of approximately 500 spread across its London, Athens, Quebec and Sydney offices, said it expected that tally to increase by 10% in the coming months.
The new roles are in the firm’s development and technology teams and the new recruits will be tasked with helping the company build a market-leading suite of omni-channel products.
“The last two years have been a period of solid growth and development, as seen with the implementation of our omni-channel strategy,” Jeremy Thompson-Hill, OpenBet chief executive, told eGR.
“In order to continue this growth and to serve the needs of our customers we need to build up our talent pool, the recruitment drive will enable us to do this, bringing in new people and new ideas which are vital for the success of the business,” he added.
The company, which last year helped Coral launch its multi-channel wallet Connect card, has highlighted omni-channel as a key focus for the current year with Thompson-Hill having previously predicted retail and online convergence would be the “battleground” of 2015.
News of the recruitment drive comes in the same week the supplier was awarded a ‘one-star’ accreditation in the 2015 Sunday Times Best Company to Work For survey.
The award classifies the supplier as a ‘very good’ employer, with a ranking system starting at ‘one to watch’ and going up to ‘three star’ accreditation.
“The ranking is widely acknowledged and respected as a barometer of workforce motivation and engagement,” Doreena Ross, OpenBet VP of human resources, said. “It supports our standing in the market with our customers and helps us to attract an even greater pool of talent,” she added.
In January OpenBet revealed it had seen double-digit revenue growth during the first half of its 2014-15 financial year.
