Planet Sport completes acquisition of Tipstrr
Leeds-based media group finalises deal for sports betting tips site to enhance its betting content proposition and develop a new subscription model

Planet Sport has acquired UK sports betting tips website Tipstrr as it looks to expand its content offering to customers. Following the conclusion of the deal Planet Sport intends to enhance its content proposition and create a new subscription model. Planet Sport also intends to develop Tipstrr’s suite of products and cross-promote the brand across its owned and operated titles, including Football365, Teamtalk and PlanetF1.com. Tipstrr currently operates a platform that offers sports betting tips from vetted sports betting experts and produces more than 100,000 betting tips per month. Tipstrr also tracks the odds for each tip on its site and then records the ongoing and historical profitability of the tip selections. The firm also offers bettors to subscribe to verified experts’ tips and content across 20 sports. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Barrie Jarrett, CEO of Planet Sport, said: “We have been following Tipstrr for a while and had previously identified them as a great fit to enhance Planet Sport’s D2C and B2B offerings in and around the sports betting market. “We are delighted to now welcome Damien and the great Tipstrr team to Planet Sport, and we are looking forward to the acquisition delivering further growth for the business in 2023.“ Damien Fearn, founder of Tipstrr, added: “At Tipstrr, we’ve always focussed on creating great products and tools in the sports betting industry. Joining Planet Sport allows us to reach a much wider audience and offer genuine value to more sports fans across the globe. The fit between the two companies was clear, even very early on in our discussions. “The Tipstrr team and I are looking forward to growing as part of the Planet Sport network,” Fearn concluded.
