Ray pens 20-year contract extension with Playtech
Wide-ranging deal includes multi-channel gaming software and content for RAY's online, mobile and retail presence
Finnish operator Raha-Automaattiyhdistys (RAY) has penned a 20-year contract extension with Playtech to receive its retail and online gaming products until 2035.
RAY initially signed with the supplier in 2011 to launch the Ray.fi online presence before extending the deal in 2013, however that deal was due to expire next year.
The new agreement includes the provision of multi-channel gaming software and content in order to support state-owned RAY’s online, mobile and retail presence, and the operator is to also gain access to locally-themed products as well as Playtech’s suite of branded titles.
RAY senior vice president of business operations Timo Kiiskinen said the last four years with Playtech had seen the operator perform “above and beyond expectations”.
“This agreement underlines how much we value our relationship and the industry-leading products we continue to have at our disposal,” Kiiskinen added.
Playtech COO Shay Segev said that contract was a “landmark” for both companies and that RAY’s growth had been “the region’s biggest success story”.
The operator’s last results disclosure in September last year reported a slight drop in digital revenues to 38.7m for the first eight months of 2014, which RAY attributed to the ongoing recession in Europe.
