888 hires former Sky Bet head as ESG director
Ben Wright joins London-listed operator to head up ESG and sustainability division after 14 years with SBG

888 has appointed former Sky Betting & Gaming (SBG) safer gambling head Ben Wright as the group’s new director of ESG and sustainability.
Wright links up with 888 after more than 14 years with Leeds-based SBG. He left the operator in August 2022 after serving as the firm’s head of safer gambling since January 2019.
Wright joined SBG in January 2008 from William Hill in the sports product division and quickly rose through the ranks to become head of sports trading in June 2015.
He was then named head of international trading and sports product in February 2017 before stepping up to become head of international trading and commercial.
Speaking on joining 888, Wright said: “I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as director of ESG and sustainability at 888.
“After a break, I’m delighted to be returning to 888/William Hill where my career began many, many years ago.
“I’m excited to work on our ESG strategy and take on an exciting role in a changing organisation,” he added.
Wright links up with 888 in a tumultuous period which has seen CEO Itai Pazner exit and the group’s operations in Austria and the Middle East called into question.
