Unibet appoints new Australia GM
Former operations director at Sportingbet Australia Peter Staunton replaces Patrik Andersson
Unibet has named Peter Staunton as the new general manager of its Australia business.
He commenced the Sydney-based role last week and replaces Patrik Andersson, who is returning to Unibet’s London office to take up a new position.
Staunton has more than a decade of experience within the Australian wagering market at the likes of Tabcorp – as general marketing manager for four years – and Centrebet, where he was business development manager.
His most recent role was at Sportingbet Australia, since acquired by William Hill, as its operations director. He is also a non-exec at online betting syndicate platform Punt Club.
Andersson had been GM for Unibet’s Australian business since 2013. He joined the operator in 2010 as strategy implementation manager and later served as head of marketing and sales for almost a year and a half.
Unibet entered the Australian market in 2012 with the acquisition of Betchoice for AU$20m (£13.6m at the time).
