
Bayes Esports appoints former Google head as COO
York Scheunemann joins up with the esports data firm in his first move into the industry


Bayes Esports has appointed York Scheunemann as its new chief operating officer (COO) as part of a seires C-level changes at the firm.
Alongside this new hire, Bayes announced Amir Mirzaee would shift from his position as COO to become the group’s new chief commercial officer and across and managing director.
Scheunemann joins the data supplier after a nine-month spell as VP of ecosystem growth at market research firm Appinio.
Scheunemann’s previously spent more than 12 years with Google across a series of finance and digtal roles, culminating in his position as EMEA business lead.
He also serves as a senior advisor to Germany-based life coaching firm LIFT.work and business consultancy firm WEVOLVE.
On his new role, Scheunemann said: “I’m fascinated by the esports industry’s explosive growth, diverse landscape, and ever-changing profile. An industry this agile, innovative and progressive needs companies like Bayes Esports and I am excited to join the team on its growth and expansion journey.”
