Operators react to eGR Operator Awards wins
Sky Bet speaks of its "delight" at awards hat-trick of prizes and Colossus Bets CEO says he feels "privileged" to win Rising Star at last night's eGR Operator Awards

Sky Betting and Gaming managing director Richard Flint spoke of his firm’s “pride” at winning a hat-trick of awards at last night’s eGR Operator Awards.
The Sky-owned operator took home the prizes for Mobile Operator, Mobile Sports Product and Affiliate Programme, on an evening which saw William Hill scoop the Operator of the Year award.
Sky subsidiary Oddschecker also won two awards for Affiliate of the Year and Sports Betting Affiliate of the year on what was a night to remember for Sky.
“We had a fantastic night at the eGR Operator Awards and were proud to win five awards which was one of the biggest hauls of awards across the sector,” Flint told eGaming Review this morning.
“We were particularly pleased to be recognised for our strength in mobile which has been an area of investment over the last three years.
“Our leading affiliate programme has gone from strength-to-strength and I am delighted that Oddschecker is not only recognised as the leading sports affiliate but the leading affiliate,” he added.
Eric Hollreiser, head of corporate communications for the Rational Group, said he was “proud” to have collected PokerStars’ awards for poker operator and mobile poker product.
“We’re very proud to be acknowledged by eGR and the expert judging panel for our success as the leading online poker operator online and on mobile,” Hollreiser said.
“Competition in our industry is always fierce and we’re proud to be recognized by our peers for delivering an outstanding product and service to millions of players,” he added.
Colossus Bets CEO and founder Bernard Marantelli said he felt “privileged” after picking up the Rising Star award following the football pools operator’s rise to prominence since its launch in 2013.
“It is a privilege to receive this award after being live for less than 18 months and we would like to thank our forward thinking partners Betdaq, Betfair, Boylesports and the other future partners currently integrating our revolutionary pools and thus helping make us the industry’s rising star,” Marantelli said.
Evolution won the Game of the Year award for its multi-camera Immersive Roulette live casino game with UK managing director Helen Hedgeland collecting the prize.
“With Immersive Roulette our team created a world first – a uniquely innovative and different game that has a real ‘wow factor’ – and we are delighted that the award recognises this,” Hedgeland said.
Meanwhile, Paf chief executive said his firm’s responsible gaming prize showed the operator was “on the right track” but would not rest on its laurels and would continue to lead on social responsibility.
“We are extremely proud of this award and we see it as an acknowledgment of the fact that Paf is the industry leader in responsible gaming and social responsibility,” Ingves said.
“But we will not stop here,” Daniela Johansson, responsible gaming expert at Paf, added. “We always want and believe that we can be even better. So we will continue to work to create an even safer, more responsible and enjoyable gaming environment.”
The event saw around 700 of egaming’s finest descended on the Camden Roundhouse for what was the 10th annual celebration of the best of the online gambling industry.
