Boylesports gets Gibraltar go-ahead as CMO departs
Irish operator to open online hub on the Rock in a move which has resulted in the exit of CMO James Arnold

Boylesports chief marketing officer James Arnold has decided to leave the firm after plans to move its remote operational hub to Gibraltar were given the go-ahead, eGaming Review has learned.
The Irish operator is said to have received confirmation of the move late last week and has already taken out an option on premises which will be used to house approximately 20 staff “very quickly”, according to a source close to the firm.
As part of the move, around 10 roles in Ireland and five in UK will be relocated to Gibraltar with affected staff notified of the switch and offered the option of relocating.
Boylesports’ chief marketing officer Arnold decided against a move and will leave the firm after having helped the operator establish its London office following his arrival from Sportingbet in May 2013.
Speaking to eGR, a spokesperson for the firm confirmed Arnold’s departure but said a decision regarding his successor had yet to be made.
Boylesports’ relocation to Gibraltar will see a consolidation of its operating licences. The firm currently operates its sportsbook and gaming products through an Isle of Man and Alderney licence respectively but its entire remote operations will now be governed the Gibraltar Gambling Commissioner.
News of the move comes after bet365 recently revealed it had taken extra office space in order to relocate its global operational hub to the peninsula.
Meanwhile, Betclic today confirmed it plans to leave Gibraltar by the end of the year as part of “rationalisation” process which will see the operator consolidate operations within its Malta base.
