Lottomatica named Operator of the Year at eGR Italy Awards

Lottomatica was named Operator of the Year at the inaugural eGR Italy Awards in Rome last night on an evening which also saw PokerStars.it and William Hill claim multiple honours.

The Italian operator fended off competition from the likes of Betfair, bwin, Eurobet, Paddy Power, SNAI and William Hill to land the evening’s headline prize and its second of the night after having earlier collected the Casino Operator of the Year award.

The ceremony, which was held at the Hotel Rome Cavalieri and attended by the leading lights of the Italian online gaming industry, saw PokerStars.it win a trio of gongs for Marketing Campaign, Customer Services Operator and Poker Operator of the Year.

William Hill bagged two awards winning the Rising Star and Sports Betting Operator of the Year categories while Paddy Power landed the Social Marketing Operator of the Year prize and was also ‘highly commended’ in the Sports Betting and Operator of the Year categories.

Playtech took home the Software Supplier of the Year prize, Tombola won the Bingo Operator of the Year category, PayPal scooped best Payments Company, while SuperScommesse claimed the Affiliate of the Year award.

Commenting on his company’s award, Playtech CEO Mor Weizer said: “We’re thrilled to win this award. Italy is, and continues to be, one of the most important regulated markets for Playtech and we have big plans to extend our market share across all channels and products.”
