Gala changes continue with new casino head
Gala Interactive's head of social Gavin Grimes promoted to lead casino division with senior bingo appointment also expected

Gala Interactive has promoted head of social Gavin Grimes to the role of head of casino as the operator continues to reshuffle its management pack.
Grimes, who joined Gala in April 2013, will report into the operator’s recently appointed gaming director Alison Digges following the earlier departure of casino director Kasper Trier-Poulsen.
Digges had previously been Gala’s director of bingo but took on an extended brief this summer after Trier-Poulsen decided to relocate to the UK from Gala’s Gibraltar base.
Gala’s gaming team is also set to be joined by a new head of bingo with the operator this morning confirming it was in the process of appointing someone to lead the Gala Bingo brand.
The news comes after Gala Interactive managing director Per Widerstrom last month announced he was to leave the firm in December to join Eastern European operator Fortuna Entertainment Group.
Widerstrom will become Fortuna’s CEO and chairman after having spent three years with Gala in which he has overseen a period of sustained growth, particularly in the UK bingo market. Gala Interactive’s annual turnover is in excess of £1.7bn.
Gala is currently in the early stages of selecting a successor to Widerstom.
In June, Gala also promoted product and operations manager Robert Fell to mobile product manager to work under product and technology director Itay Fisher.
