SIS signs exclusive La Liga data deal
Bookmaking service provider Satellite Information Services appointed Liga de Futbol Profesional's first official data partner
Bookmaking service provider Satellite Information Services (SIS) has signed a deal with Spanish football association Liga de Futbol Profesional’s (LFP) to become their official data partner, giving them the exclusive right to distribute live data from the Spanish football leagues.
SIS was selected after a competitive tender process and the three-year deal, which starts this season, includes Spain’s top three professional football divisions and its two cup competitions, the Copa del Rey and the Supercopa.
Data collected by SIS, and sold to partner bookmakers, will include team line-ups, scores, cards, shots and corners.
“This is the first time the LFP has entered into an official relationship with a betting data partner and we are delighted to be working with one of the top leagues in the world,” Paul Baker, director of strategic development at SIS, said.
“It is clear there is a phenomenal interest globally in Spanish football and, working closely with the LFP, we will meet a growing demand among the betting industry for high quality data from Spain.”
SIS appointed former William Hill product manager Marc Thomas as its new head of product in February this year ahead of a digital push this year, and last month helped launch Betfred’s TV network on its Betfred.com and Totepool.com websites.
