Former Ladbrokes head of mobile joins Camelot
Claire Barry joins National Lottery operator as its new head of digital strategy and planning
Ladbrokes’ former head of mobile Claire Barry has joined National Lottery operator Camelot as its new head of digital strategy and planning.
Barry started in the new role earlier this month and will be working on Camelot’s digital products and report directly to the firm’s head of digital products and services Rob Beattie.
“We are delighted to welcome Claire to our team,” Beattie said. “Her wealth of experience is a great asset at what is a very exciting time for the UK National Lottery “ particularly when the focus on innovation, growth and enhanced customer relationships in the digital space has never been stronger.”
Barry joins the firm seven months after leaving Ladbrokes, having spent a year as its head of mobile and tablet and four months in an interim role as head of mobile customer experience.
The lottery operator has invested heavily in its online development and recently teased it is about to roll-out a “revolutionary” new online platform, with the aim of boosting digital revenues.
“The work we’re carrying out to transform our digital services across all channels has already seen sales get off to a very positive start in 2014-15 and gives us an excellent platform to deliver even more for winners and society in the years to come,” Andy Duncan, managing director at Camelot, said at the time.
Camelot is currently working towards dividing the firm into two separate entities, one of which will focus on UK growth while the other will concentrate on opportunities in international markets.
