Ladbrokes goes offline as wallet migration begins
Operator continues Playtech backend move as digital services go offline for 12 hours
Ladbrokes has taken its entire suite of digital services offline as it begins to migrate customers to Playtech’s single wallet solution.
The downtime began at 12:00am today and has continued throughout the morning, with it scheduled to complete around noon.
An email to customers sent yesterday warned of the downtime and provided details of “enhanced features” that the migration would deliver.
New payment methods are to be added with customers allowed to add up to five payment methods to their individual accounts, while the ability to cancel pending withdrawals will also be added.
An automatic top-up feature is also set to be rolled out which will give customers the option of instantly transferring unused funds from their gaming wallet to their sportsbook wallet should they have insufficient funds in their sports betting account.
The migration of customer wallets is the most recent sign that Ladbrokes’ switch to Playtech’s entire IMS backend is progressing well.
Last month eGaming Review revealed that Ladbrokes CEO Richard Glynn had briefed employees that the migration was “at a tipping point” with the operator keen to operate entirely from Playtech’s backend software prior to this summer’s FIFA World Cup.
