A round-up of the latest launches and deals in the egaming industry, including Boylesports and NYX Interactive
Irish bookmaker Boylesports has signed a deal to become the title sponsor of the 2014 Irish Grand National. The deal will see the race, which will take place at the Fairyhouse Racecourse on 21 April, renamed as the Boylesports Irish Grand National.
“This is undoubtedly the most iconic race of the year and is one of the biggest events in Ireland’s sporting and social calendar,” John Boyle, owner and CEO at Boylesports, said.
NYX Interactive has launched virtual sports betting games following an agreement with gaming software firm 1X2gaming. Nine virtual sports titles have been launched on the NYX OGS platform, including a virtual World Cup game ahead of this summer’s tournament.
“The flexibility of the tournament specific games like Virtual World Cup, coupled with the high rates of turnover of games, makes for a very compelling offer,” David Flynn, SVP of business development for NYX Gaming Group, said.
The Alderney Gambling Control Commission has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with FIFA subsidiary Early Warning System to co-operate for the early detection of suspicious sports betting activity ahead of this summer’s FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
An operational framework has been agreed upon by the two bodies and relevant betting information will be exchanged in order to help analyse potentially suspicious betting patterns and odds movements.
US-based games distributor MX Digital has announced an exclusive partnership with Blues Brothers Approved Ventures for the use of the Blues Brothers brand for online gaming properties.
The games will feature actor Dan Aykroyd, who played Elwood Blues in the film, with the likenesses of both Aykroyd and the late John Belushi also set to be included. “Adding a powerhouse brand like The Blues Brothers only further enhances our strategy,” Ted Lanes, CFO of MX Digital, said.
Gaming software provider Iforium has licensed more than 100 Flash and HTML5 casino games from NYX Interactive’s OGS catalogue and integrated them into its Gameflex casino engine, including games from various providers.
“As more games providers come on board these are also available with no further development work, thus giving Iforium speed to market for delivering exciting casino content to their clients,” David Flynn, SVP of business development for NYX Gaming Group, said.
