Blue Gem launches Sheriff Gaming content
Casino content previously held by now-bankrupt Bubble Group marketed to egaming operators by new, independent start-up
Content previously owned by Bubble Group, the parent company of Sheriff Gaming, is now being marketed by a new start-up claiming to be entirely independent.
Blue Gem Gaming has launched under management provided by Curacao-licensed holding company Emoore NV, which also managed online casinos BetPort and OmniCasino.
The firm expects to expand its management team shortly ahead of a European push and is now deciding where to apply for a European licence.
Speaking to eGaming Review a company representative confirmed that some of Sheriff Gaming’s former customers have already transferred their business to Blue Gem, with discussions currently under way with several others.
Sheriff Gaming collapsed last month after its parent company Bubble Group declared bankruptcy two days after it lost its Category 2 licence from the Alderney Gambling Control Commission, which deemed it “no longer fit and proper to hold such a certificate”.
The supplier’s problems stem from a lengthy investigation into the firm’s CEO Stijn Flapper, who has been accused of money laundering by authorities in his native Netherlands.
However, Blue Gem Gaming claims to be entirely independent from Sheriff Gaming.
“Blue Gem is a new company that has no connection with Bubble Group and Sheriff Gaming, there is no reason to foresee any issues [with a licence application],” the representative said.
The company did however confirm that Tim Flapper, Stijn’s brother, had previously held a role on Blue Gem’s development team as a freelancer. “He’s not on the payroll, in a key-figure position or co-owning in any way,” the company said.
