Gary Wimbridge joins Betfair's ecommerce team having previously helped launch Sky Bet's mobile casino platform
Former Sky Bet head of casino Gary Wimbridge has moved to Betfair to join its ecommerce team as its global head Tasmin Todd prepares to leave the exchange and sportsbook operator.
Wimbridge, who started his role this week, had previously worked on the development of Sky Bet’s HTML5 mobile casino platform, which launched in December last year.
Following the launch, he moved to Aditi Technologies in January this year, and assisted with the creation of a betting and gaming vertical within the group.
Wimbridge has also held roles at Ladbrokes, Paddy Power and GTECH G2.
A Betfair spokesperson told eGR that Wimbridge would be working within the operator’s ecommerce team, tasked with improving customer experience.
He will work under the current global head of ecommerce Todd, who is to leave her role with the London-listed operator in the New Year.
Former Wall Street analyst Todd will join UK ski operator Crystal Ski in January, having previously held roles at Amazon and Microsoft’s search engine Bing before leading the commercial launch of Microsoft’s MSN Shopping network.
