Malta and Alderney regulators sign MoU
LGA and AGCC deal will include pooling information between the two jurisdictions

Malta’s Lotteries and Gaming Authority (LGA) and the Alderney Gambling Control Commission (AGCC) have entered into a bilateral Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance information sharing and provide investigative assistance.
The MoU was signed by the two regulatory bodies on 9 October by LGA chairman Mario Galea and AGCC chief executive André Wilsenach, who believes it will rectify common interests shared by the two jurisdictions.
“The MOU is an important step in the development and sharing of common regulatory best practices, including employee exchange programmes, common certification standards and other practical and operative arrangements to reflect technological and other developments in the area, which should benefit operators in both jurisdictions,” he said.
In addition to providing a basis for increased knowledge-sharing, the MoU also seeks to address issues concerning, cloud regulation, player liquidity and reciprocal server location.
“With this MoU the two jurisdictions recognise the common values underlying their regulation of remote gaming namely to ensure consumer protection and the protection of society and public order, amongst others, and to regulate in such a way as to ensure fair, responsible and secure provision of gaming services,” Galea added.
The deal comes after the LGA was criticised by Everleaf Gaming players in August after failing to reimburse them following the network’s withdrawal from the US market last year.
