888 agrees marketing deal with Golden Gaming
Nevada-based tavern operator to promote 888Poker once Nevada goes live in November

888 Holdings has struck an innovative marketing deal with Nevada-based Golden Gaming which will see the land-based casino and tavern operator drive customers to 888Poker.com.
The agreement, which has been given the thumbs-up by the state’s Gaming Control Board, means once online gaming goes live in the state, Golden Gaming can sign up players from its three casinos, 45 wholly-owned taverns and a number of their third-party route partners to 888’s online poker offering.
Golden Gaming, which will have no involvement in the running of the online products, will leverage its brick and mortar assets using a variety marketing tools including 888-branded promotions, campaigns and sign-up offers.
In return, Golden Gaming will receive a percentage of gaming earnings alongside 888 and Treasure Island, one of 888’s casino partners in the state. Golden Gaming, however, will not be directly promoting Treasure Island branded products.
Regulators praised the groundbreaking deal for its effort in trying to assist what will be a burgeoning market.
“This is a good example of new ideas coming to the marketplace,” Control Board chairman A.G. Burnett said. “It’s an attempt to add further liquidity. I, for one, welcome it.”
888 is also set to operate poker websites for Caesars Entertainment in Nevada under the World Series of Poker brand but Golden Gaming will only share in the revenues for customers signed-up to play on either the Treasure Island or 888 websites.
