Koolbit launches real-money sports betting site
BetBaron.com is mobile casino operator's first sports betting offering

Mobile casino operator Koolbit is set to launch its first real-money sports betting site this week, eGaming Review has exclusively learned.
BetBaron.com allows a bettor to win up to £10m from a £2 bet, with a unique “deal or no deal” cash-in model. In addition, all bets enter a “consolation pool” in which players’ failed bets may have a second life.
Koolbit has previously focused on its Casino Ino branded family of mobile, social, freemium casino apps with a slots/female demographic. However, speaking with eGR, Koolbit CEO Gerard Cunningham confirmed this week’s UK launch and said the firm wanted to attract more male customers through its Bet Baron offering.
“While continuing to grow our Casino Ino market share in female mobile slots players, we want to reach a hardcore, mobile, male audience and to do that the best option is sports betting under the new Bet Baron brand,” he said.
Despite facing stiff competition from the more established sports betting offerings already available to players in the UK, Cunningham said the firm is confident of finding success. “The UK sports betting market is very competitive and very mature,” he said. “It is a desktop-centric world in which bookies offer simple £10 to win, and Betfair offers a complicated market model.
“We think Bet Baron is a simpler experience than Betfair and more interesting than the average experience of just placing a £10 bet at the weekend,” he added. “Our initial focus groups indicate that the players are very excited and interested in what we have and this week’s launch will provide real feedback.”
BetBaron.com will launch as a mobile-first website this week, and will be available as an iOS app in the near future.
Koolbit was founded by former Betfair USA president Cunningham with the aim of creating the world’s largest network of mobile, social and real-money sites and apps.
