Inspired Gaming to deliver virtual sports to Gamenet
Virtual sports supplier continues to dominate newly-regulated virtual sports betting market
Italian operator Gamenet has penned a deal with Inspired Gaming Group to integrate the supplier’s portfolio of virtual sports products onto its online and mobile platforms.
Gamenet, one of Italy’s leading Italian concessionaries for video lottery terminals, is the latest local operator to launch Inspired’s offering, with the supplier claiming to power 90% of the Italian virtual sports market. Italy’s regulator announced the approval of measures concerning betting on virtual sports in February and began a testing process for egaming companies looking to the product in the dot.it market.
Claudio Sforza, managing director of Gamenet, said the deal allows his firm “to widen its games portfolio”, adding that the offering will also be rolled out across more than 100 shops and kiosks across Italy.
Steve Rogers, managing director of Inspired’s Virtual Sports division, said the supplier’s “years of experience worldwide have demonstrated that [its] virtual sports products generate incremental revenues for sports betting operators across all channels.”
The launch of virtual sports earlier this year continues the opening-up of the Italian egaming market, which has seen a number of new products allowed over the past 12 months, including slots and fast-fold poker, while restrictions on bingo products are due to be lifted this year.
