Exclusive: Ontario prepares to launch bingo RFP
Canadian province advertises for bingo product manager with industry experience ahead of RFP

The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation (OLG) will launch a request for proposals (RFP) for a bingo software provider as soon as late summer, eGaming Review has learned.
The province, which last month chose Spielo G2 as its primary supplier of internet gaming products and services, has already advertised for a bingo product manager with “a strong understanding of gaming and betting”. eGR understands OLG is keen to bring in an individual with experience of the European online bingo market.
Among the expectations of the successful candidate is “[a] good understanding of technologies (mobile/tablet) and future technologies (smartTV)”, while they are also expected to be capable of developing new game variants.
Part of their role will be to “constantly study competitor brands to identify opportunities for product development and enhanced customer experience, new promotion ideas, emerging games and more,” according to the advertisement seen by eGaming Review.
OLG is also anticipated to launch an RFP for third-party casino software before the end of the summer, with a casino product manager with more than a decade of industry experience having been appointed in recent weeks. The yet-to-be named individual will manage the slots, table games and lottery products provided by Spielo G2, which will launch under the Play OLG brand later this year.
The province is yet to issue RFPs for either poker or sports betting, though Manitoba joined British Columbia and Québec earlier this year in offering both products.
The Canadian Poker Network – powered by Spielo G2 – currently ranks below the recently launched Nevada-licensed Ultimate Poker site for cash-game traffic with a seven-day average of 145 players, according to Pokerscout. However British Columbia Lottery Corporation CEO Michael Graydon has pledged to challenge the dominance of Canadian market leader PokerStars.
