PKR adds iPhone app to mobile portfolio
Release follows launch of iPad version last month.

Poker operator PKR has announced the rollout of its first real-money iPhone app, compatible with every generation of the Apple device.
The launch follows last month’s rollout of an iPad app, the first real-money mobile or tablet offering from the company after it entered the mobile space via play-for-fun 3D roulette and blackjack late last year.
Both real-money poker games are in the iTunes UK App Store along with a freeplay version which currently ranks in the top five for free casino games, while real-money roulette and blackjack are expected to follow in the coming months, as well as a real-money Android poker app.
At present the app only allows cash game play, with mobile play accounting for 10% of PKR’s cash game traffic, however multi-tabling and scheduled tournaments are said to be on the way.
There are also plans in place to conduct “A major play-for-fun monetisation programme later this year,” a spokesperson for PKR told eGR, though players are currently unable to buy virtual goods within the mobile app.
Chief operating officer Leon Walters said: “A huge amount of work has gone into making a poker app we believe will be the best on the market.
“We hope players find it an easy, fun way to play online poker on the move, while still being radically different from other apps,” he added.
The recent launches have come soon after the release of an investor prospectus by PKR, with the operator looking to raise a seven-figure sum to “boost marketing firepower.”
CEO Malcolm Graham told eGaming Review at the time that the company would “Take between three and six months to see what emerges,” adding: “There is a real opportunity for us to build the business and add more firepower in marketing, product development and in B2B, particularly in the US.”
