PlanetWin365 adds Play2b poker platform
Austrian operator PlanetWin365 will offer Play2b poker games through its European-facing website.
Malta-licensed gaming platform supplier Play2b has signed a deal to integrate its poker product into Austrian operator PlanetWin365’s European facing site.
The move sees Play2b become the second poker room on the PlanetWin365 poker platform and will expand its access to central, southern and eastern European markets.
Play2b, the B2B arm of Goalgaming group, offers an integrated platform, payments, anti-fraud platform which offers poker, casino, bingo and sports betting products.
The company is headed up by CEO Chicco Merighi, the founder and president of Goalgaming. He said of the deal: “I thank PlanetWin365 for choosing Play2B as the most innovative product on the poker market; this is a confirmation of how Play2B has the necessary skills and characteristics to become a leading network in Europe.”
Earlier this month Merighi criticised the regulation of the Spanish online poker market, claiming that Goalgaming’s Spanish-facing brand Goalwin, along with all other network-based operators, stood “no chance” of succeeding there.
He criticised the country’s regulator for poorly managing the situation and allowing smaller, mainly network-based licensees, to consider throwing in the towel as a result of unprofitable liquidity levels and PokerStars 70% market share.
Merighi would not confirm whether or not Goalwin would leave the Ongame network, however added that there was a “plan B” to consider. “There are no good results in Spain for anyone apart from PokerStars,” he said. “The situation is a consequence of something that has not been managed very well. All of the networks are finished, even if they won’t admit it.”
He added that he had been assured by Ongame that two large operators “ Betfair and one other “ would join the network, however earlier this month Betfair announced it would migrate all its players onto Playtech’s dot.com and dot.es iPoker networks bringing to an end the exchange betting operator’s agreement with Ongame.
“We know the Ongame network really well, however we expected there to be at least two more big operators on there. We have to wait to see what Ongame’s decision will be as they have completely stopped investing in the market.”
