ComTrade spins off gaming arm
Software provider to re-launch gaming divison as independent company - unveiling at next week's ICE exhibition at the Excel Centre in London.

Software provider ComTrade is to re-launch its gaming arm as an independent company with the grand unveiling at next week’s ICE exhibition at the Excel Centre in London.
ComTrade Gaming will continue to develop new gaming products and solutions but focus more on developing its own intellectual property and product portfolio, it said in a statement this morning. Its work will focus on three areas including systems, games (with RGS) and its iGaming Platform, while it will continue to provide specialist consultancy within the online, land-based and mobile gaming sectors.
“The move comes as a result of the company’s desire to expand its leading expertise on a global level, and extend its reach into new markets,” it said.
Exhibiting at the show for the fifth consecutive year, but the first as newly branded ComTrade Gaming, the company has invested heavily in product development during that time.
In October last year Genting Alderney, part of the Genting Group, the world’s third largest casino operator, signed a licence agreement withComTrade to integrate a new open gaming platform signalling a move away from current provider Playtech.
The agreement allows Genting to deploy ComTrade’s iGaming platform providing it with a single customer view and wallet across all of its products and channels including online, social and mobile games. The open platform also allows Genting to integrate best of breed products and content from a variety of suppliers as well as deliver localised games to individual markets.
Gregor Smrekar, general manager of ComTrade Gaming said: “We are excited that our shareholders recognise success and growth and an independent unit means that gaming will be a strategic pillar of the group. We will continue to invest heavily and this new company will give us space to focus fully on our clients and specifics of the gaming industry.”
Ales Gornjec, director of products and solutions at ComTrade Gaming added: “The ComTrade product portfolio has again significantly increased since our last show and is focused around our enterprise gaming platforms which can be tightly integrated into a multi-channel environment that enables operators to have a single view of their players and to choose best of breed content.”
