Skrill appoints Ingenico veteran Doyle
New SVP of sales and marketing boasts more than a decade's experience in the payments industry.

Payment service provider Skrill has appointed Craig Doyle to the position of senior vice-president of sales and marketing.
Doyle has spent more than a decade in the payments industry, predominantly with payment terminal business Ingenico where he most recently held the titles of managing director of the Northern European Region, VP of marketing and solutions for Europe and an executive committee member.
He also has more than a decade’s experience of the banking and finance industry in South Africa, while Skrill anticipates him bringing his hardware and offline technology expertise to the business as well as his wider strategic knowledge of the payments industry.
Doyle, whose arrival is described by Skrill as “the first of a number of key hires”, said: “I believe by putting in place clear direction and a solid sales and marketing strategy, Skrill has the opportunity to build on its current solutions and existing position, to realise its long-term ambitions to become the first choice for online payments.”
His arrival comes in the light of a number of personnel changes for the company formerly known as Moneybookers, in the months since reaching an agreement to acquire prepaid voucher provider Paysafecard last June.
Former chief executive Martin Ott has joined Facebook as MD for Northern Europe, while VP of sales Lorenzo Pellegrino and COO Ralf Wiesel have also left the company, the former to join fellow payments firm Optimal Payments.
Meanwhile November saw Joe Hall take on the role of VP gaming, and earlier this month former business development manager Matt Yates left Skrill after a year in the role.
CEO Siegfried Heimgaertner, who replaced Ott last year, said of Doyle’s appointment: “Craig Doyle’s wealth of knowledge and understanding of the payments sector will help shape this next exciting stage of our journey. His understanding of offline payment technology strengthens our breadth of experience.”
