SGA announces latest executive members
Slingo and Bally Technologies join executive committee " Melissa Blau and Steve Donoughue appointed association advisors.

The Social Gaming Association (SGA) has announced that two companies have joined its executive committee, helping shape the industry body’s policies and future strategy.
Slingo and Bally Technologies are the latest businesses to join the association after AbZorba Games was named as the body’s first executive member when the SGA was officially launched last week. Gambling consultants Melissa Blau of iGaming Capital and freelance consultant Steve Donoughue will also serve SGA in an advisory capacity.
“I’m delighted to welcome all three members on to the executive committee,” SGA director Stuart Tilly said. “Their combined breadth and depth of knowledge of the social games space is going to be invaluable in the pursuit of our objectives and I am very excited about working with them going forward.”
The SGA is committed to promoting self-regulation of the sector in order to ensure social responsibility and the protection of minors, and aims to set standards of best practice for the industry, and is also looking to establish partnerships with European gambling regulators in order to enhance its credibility.
Slingo chief executive Rich Roberts spoke of the importance of protecting the sector from gambling-style regulation, saying: “Social games encompass a wide array of advancing technologies and it’s imperative that the dynamic and innovative nature of this popular form of entertainment remains flexible and is safeguarded from any formal regulation.
“I believe the Social Gaming Association will provide the industry with a clear, cohesive and consistent voice,” Roberts added.
