In July, the UEFA Euro 2020 championships continued – providing plenty of profitable opportunities for enthusiastic players in a series of action-packed football (soccer) matches.
Over in Tokyo, the much-anticipated Olympic Games began on Friday 23 July. The huge international sporting event is more than likely to cause a stir in the online sports betting industry.
So, let’s find out how the following KPIs performed.
Sports KPIs
Monthly deposits
The average number of monthly deposits for sports bettors increased by 9% MoM and by 4% YoY, now standing at 9.7 monthly deposits per player.
It’s no secret that English players were particularly enthusiastic this month, especially after England’s winning semi-final gripped the nation. Therefore, the average number of monthly deposits for sports bettors increased by 10% MoM and 6% YoY, now standing at 6.7 monthly deposits per player.
Monthly net gaming revenue per player
There has been an increase of 8% MoM in average revenue per active player and an increase of 10% YoY, now standing at €90 per player.
On the other side of the pond, American sports bettors might have been actively playing due to the Olympic Games as we can see an evident increase of 8% MoM and a rise of 54% YoY, now standing at £145 per player.
Average deposit amount
The average deposit amount for sports players increased by 3% MoM and by 17% YoY, now standing at £41.
Retention rates
Retention rates for sports bettors have decreased by 6%, both MoM and YoY, now standing at 13%.
New retention rates
New retention rates have increased by 9% MoM and by 6% YoY, now standing at 37%.
Conversion rates
Conversion rates increased by 2% MoM and decreased by 5% YoY, now standing at 42%.
Number of activity days
This month, the number of activity days decreased by 6%, both MoM and YoY, now standing at 7.2.
Mobile bet rate
For this report, this KPI is defined as the total mobile bet amount during July, divided by the total bet amount. Looking at the data, the rate decreased by 6% MoM and increased by 16% YoY, now standing at 67%.
Casino KPIs
Average deposit amount
The average deposit amount for casino players remained the same MoM and increased by 15% YoY, now standing at £39.
Monthly deposit per player
The average number of monthly deposits per player in July increased 7% MoM and increased by 11% YoY, now standing at 10.4 deposits per player.
Monthly revenue
The average net gaming revenue per active player increased by 9% MoM and increased by 17% YoY, now standing at €96.
Conversion rates
Conversion rates decreased by 12% both MoM and YoY, now standing at 36%.
Retention rates
Retention rates have decreased by 3% MoM and remained the same YoY, now standing at 64%.
New retention rates
New retention rates increased by 3% MoM and decreased by 3% YoY, now standing at 34%.
Number of activity days
The number of activity days decreased by 4% MoM and increased by 3% YoY, now standing at 6.7.
