Slots Tracker: Play’n GO holds onto top spot at start of 2022
Book of Dead remains the number one slot in iGaming Tracker rankings as Christmas-themed titles fall away
Book of Dead by Play’n GO secured a fourth consecutive month as the top-ranked title in the iGaming Tracker rankings.
Book of Dead remained in first place keeping its main rival NetEnt’s Starburst at arm’s length in second place.
Pragmatic Play’s Big Bass Bonanza jumped one position in January to finish third while the supplier’s Sweet Bonanza title leapt six places into fourth.
Bonanza by Evolution remained unmoved in fifth place as December’s third placed title Pragmatic Play’s Christmas Big Bass Bonanza fell a dramatic 13 places to 16th.
There were four new entrants in the January rankings including Evolution’s Silverback Gold in 20th and Blueprint’s Fishin Frenzy: The Big Catch which was the highest-ranking new entry in 15th.
Evolution’s Jingle Ways Megaways, which was 6th in January, was the highest-ranking title to fall out of the rankings completely.
iGaming Tracker has also detailed the top-ranking new slots that were released in December and January.
Evolution’s Silverback Gold secured top spot in the new games rankings from last month having gone live on 15 December.
Microgaming’s Agent Jane Blonde Max Volume was the second-highest ranking new release with Magician’s Secrets by Pragmatic Play in third place.
The game with the latest release date to secure a spot in the top 20 was Blueprint’s Gold Strike Bonanza Jackpot King (18 January) after finishing in 20th place.
The iGaming Tracker has changed its methodology of data collection and grading of games since October 2020 to give a fairer and broader reflection of the rankings.
Games are ranked by their position throughout the month on more than 500 of the largest casino sites in Europe. Only the ‘main’ page of the casinos is taken into account and the top 10 most prominent positions on those pages.
The previous number of sites the iGaming Tracker took into account was just 50.
The iGaming Tracker compiles the slots rankings by tracking casino sites across more than 25 European countries including the UK, Sweden, Germany, Italy, Norway and Denmark.
Each casino page is tracked every day over the month as well as which game occupies each position. Each position is weighted so the top positions on the page have a higher weighting than the positions on the bottom of the page. Likewise, the pages, sites and countries are weighted to give a fairer view on the success of casino games.
Table games such as roulette and blackjack are excluded from the rankings, as are live casino games.
