
Sky Betting & Gaming expands Leeds data centre with £3m investment
Operator creates 34 additional roles including head of data and tech


Sky Betting & Gaming (SB&G) has created 34 new roles to strengthen its Leeds-based data centre.
The positions being recruited for include a new head of data, head of tech, head of marketing tech, group platform managers, customer relationship managers, marketing technology product owners, technologists and a new marketing team.
Sky Bet director of gaming technology, Rik Barker said the investment demonstrated the operator’s ambition to lead in the data field.
“[It] allows us to push further into some really exciting developments around propensity modelling, streaming and real-time decisioning that will give our customers even greater experiences across all our products,” he added.
The Leeds hub uses data science, predictive modelling, analytics and ad-tech to develop more personalised customer journeys.
SB&G also expanded its Sheffield office earlier this month, securing space for an additional 160 staff to work on the firm’s in-house platform technology.
SB&G now employs some 1,300 staff with offices in Leeds, London, Rome and Munich.
