UK operator unveils new Microgaming-powered mobile version to boost channel growth

Gibraltar-licensed 32Red has launched its first Italy-facing mobile website as the operator looks to increase the percentage of revenue derived from the mobile channel.
The mobile site, which went live this week, was developed in collaboration with Microgaming and has been optimised for all smartphone and tablet devices.
The operator recently revealed the percentage of revenue derived from mobile during 2013 was 21%, up on 2012’s figure of 10% but still leaving scope for further growth.
“It will be like owning a real pocket casino, where customers can enjoy the variety of games offered by 32Red at any time of the day, wherever they are,” a 32Red spokesperson said.
32Red entered the Italian market in November 2012 and last week announced first-year 2013 revenues of £1.3m for the region.
The operator admitted H1 Italian revenues of £0.5m was “slower than expected”, however, this picked up slightly with £0.8m accrued during H2 and it is hoped the mobile launch will see growth increase at a quicker rate.
In August the operator announced a two-year a sponsorship deal with Serie A football team Bologna which includes on and offline branding activities and the launch of an affiliate programme to market the 32Red casino.
32Red CEO Ed Ware recently listed Spain, Germany and the soon-to-be regulated markets of the Netherlands and the US as countries on the operator’s agenda for further international expansion.
