69% of Iowans oppose egaming legislation
Newspaper poll finds majority of state voters are against online gambling legislation despite introduction of bill this month.

A poll has found that only 28% of Iowa citizens are in favour of online gambling legislation in the state, despite Senator Jeff Danielson’s egaming study bill passing the subcommittee stage earlier this week.
The Des Moines Register polled 800 people, with 69% coming out against the passage of online gambling regulation, however this shows a slight decline with 73% opposing regulation in a poll conducted this time last year.
The poll’s findings follow Senator Danielson’s introduction of a bill to legislate egaming earlier this month, with US Digital Gaming lined up to supply a gaming platform for the state should regulation pass.
Danielson’s Senate Study Bill 3164 was passed by a three-man subcommittee on Monday this week.
