888 launch its responsible gambling feature in Italy
Safer gambling product The Control Centre brought to the Italian market after successful launch in the UK

888 has brought its customer-facing interface, The Control Centre, to Italy, one of the operator’s key markets.
After being launched in the UK at the end of 2020, 888 has successfully rolled out the feature across multiple products and other markets, enabling more customers to take control of their gambling experience.
This feature allows customers to manage their gambling activity via real-time data and control their activity through various tools, including a ‘take a break’ restriction, deposit limits and self-exclusion limits.
Since its launch, the operator has seen a 23% increase in the use of safer gambling tools among its customers which it has attributed to The Control Centre, with those who use the service 20% more likely to amend their deposit limits, and 102% more likely to use the ‘take a break’ tool.
The Control Centre is a key pillar of 888’s ‘Made to Play Safely’ ESG framework called ‘Made for the Future’. As part of this framework, the group want to give customers the power to make safe and responsible decisions about their gambling habits.
Andrew Anthony, VP, customer safety and due diligence at 888, commented: “I am delighted to see The Control Centre rolled out in another of our core markets. At 888, we recognise the need to use our proprietary technology to protect customers and promote safer play.”
Anthony added: “We are focused on ensuring that our customers are empowered to make safe and responsible decisions about their gambling, and we remain committed to continually investing in our teams and technology to create industry-leading, user-friendly tools that help achieve this. We look forward to introducing The Control Centre across more markets over the coming years.”
