888 scoops hat-trick at eGR Operator Awards
Gibraltar-licensed operator beats off strong competition to take home Poker Operator, Casino Operator and overall Operator of the Year awards
888 capped off a stellar year of rising revenues and profits by scoring a hat-trick of major gongs at eGaming Review‘s Operator Awards in London last night.
The company, which has demonstrated strong growth in European regulated markets during 2013 as well as establishing an enviable foothold in the US, took home the Poker Operator, Casino Operator and overall Operator of the Year awards.
888’s recreational-focussed poker and casino products were clear favourites among judges, who cited a 13% rise in both verticals during H1 of 2013 as proof of its recent progress.
Meanwhile by scooping the prestigious Operator of the Year prize for the first time 888 fought off competition from the biggest names in the industry including bet365, William Hill and Paddy Power.
Its success in the poker vertical has been particularly impressive given the decline in revenues experienced across the rest of the industry, and 888 it remains one of the only operators to capitalise on the Spanish market where its market share has made the country a strong revenue contributor.
The judging panel was also impressed by 888’s rapid expansion into the US online gaming market, having now launched its products and brands in all three regulated states.
