Georges St-Pierre agrees global endorsement contract with Gibraltar-licensed operator.

Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) champion Georges St-Pierre, twice winner of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) welterweight title, has signed up with 888 as a brand ambassador for the Gibraltar-licensed operator.
Known as GSP, St-Pierre will represent 888 in a number of live events including the World Series of Poker and the operator’s own Deepstack poker series.
The French-Canadian martial artist, who has previously been named fighter of the year by publications including Sports Illustrated, will also use the relationship to raise money for anti-bullying charities through specially organised online games at 888poker.com.
“I am very excited to become a global brand ambassador for Team 888poker. I have wanted to play poker for a while now as it is a great game of skill. It is not just your cards versus my cards; it is you versus your opponent,” said St-Pierre.
“However, the most important aspect of my partnership with 888poker is that we are going to generate a great deal of money for my foundation that dedicates its efforts towards anti-bullying causes,” he added.
Itai Pazner, senior VP of 888 B2C, said: “The partnership agreement with Georges St-Pierre will strengthen our brand awareness around the globe and introduce 888 to the growing sport of MMA and its fans
888 has a number of other sporting ambassadors, including cricketer Shane Warne and footballer Santiago Canizares.
