Sky Bet appoints BetVictor head of VIP
Chris Willmott relocates to the UK to join Leeds-based Sky Betting and Gaming to head up its VIP team

Sky Betting and Gaming has appointed BetVictor’s head of VIP Chris Willmott to an identical position within the Leeds-based firm as it looks to bolster its VIP team, eGaming Review has learned.
The hire will see Willmott relocate back to the UK after he had moved to Gibraltar in order to take up the head of VIP role at BetVictor in 2011. Willmott first joined BetVictor in 2010 as its territories business development director.
Willmott worked his last day at BetVictor at the end of March and is set to join up with Sky Bet in the next few weeks. A spokesperson for BetVictor confirmed Willmott’s departure and wished him well in his new role.
However, BetVictor said it wasn’t yet in the position to confirm who would fill the vacant head of VIP role at the firm.
Sky Bet’s hire of Willmott comes shortly after the firm embarked on a major recruitment drive with the creation of 90 new roles at its Leeds headquarters.
The drive will see staff numbers increase beyond the 650-mark with the announcement of the expansion plan coming shortly after private equity firm CVC Capital Partners had acquired an 80% stake in the firm from Sky for £720m.
