BoyleSports appoints new digital MD
Former Sky Betting & Gaming man Eddie Bennett will head-up Irish bookie's online operations
BoyleSports has strengthened its Gibraltar-based online hub with the appointment of Eddie Bennett to the newly created role of digital managing director, eGaming Review has learned.
Bennett (pictured) will join up with the Irish operator on 18 April and take responsibility for leading the Irish firm’s digital operations and marketing strategy.
The new MD had recently been working as a consultant to the industry, prior to which he was UK marketing director for Lottoland and head of Totepool.com.
Bennett also spent three years at Sky Betting & Gaming where he was head of customer marketing between 2010 and 2013.
“I am delighted to welcome Eddie Bennett to the BoyleSports team,” John Boyle, BoyleSports CEO, said.
“Eddie has both the expertise and the commitment needed to drive the BoyleSports’ digital platform and to help make us the very best at what we do,” he added.
Bennett will relocate from the UK to BoyleSports’ 20-strong Gibraltar base, which was launched last year following the closure of its London office.
News of Bennett’s arrival comes just weeks after the bookmaker’s head of football Martin Wilson left the firm to take up a trading role at operator giant bet365.
It is understood Wilson’s responsibilities will be shared out among the trading team with the recently installed head of trading David Burgin expected to take on the lion’s share of the role.
