
Alderney Gambling Control Commission appoints 25-year industry veteran as new executive director
Andrew Gellatly replaces Jorn Stark who held the role since 2015 as regulator looks to the increasingly “diversified and complex” gambling market

Andrew Gellatly has been appointed as executive director of the Alderney Gambling Control Commission (AGCC).
The announcement comes following what the AGCC have stated was a “thorough executive search process”.
The independent regulatory body welcomes Gellatly, who brings 25 years worth of gambling experience, having been editorial director and head of global research at VIXIO Gambling Compliance having founded the company.
Lord Faulkener of Worcester, chair of the AGCC, said: “Andrew has established himself as a trusted voice in the global gambling industry.
“His career has been built on independence, impartiality and a deep knowledge of the sector.
Gellatly will be tasked with developing AGCC strategy and ensuring its regulatory approach continues to “meet the needs of licencess and operators”.
Gellatly, who becomes just the third executive director in the history of the commission, said: “As the global online gabling market becomes more diversified and complex, there could be no better time for me to join the AGCC.
“Newly opening markets from Canada to Latin America are creating unpredented opportunities for global facing businesses, with new products and new delivery channels.”
The announcement sees Gellatly replace Jorn Stark, who has held the role since 2015 having joined the regulator in 2007.
As of 1 April 2022, the AGCC is responsible for the regulation of 35 gambling licencees, 20 assaociate certificates, 11 core service providers and 11 hosting providers.
