Bally adds GeoComply solution to egaming platform
Casino and gaming supplier will offer geolocation technology as part of online offering.

Bally Technologies has agreed a deal with GeoComply to incorporate geolocation technology into its iGaming Platform.
Along with IGT, Bally was the first to be licensed as a service provider for online poker in Nevada last year, while GeoComply has also applied for licensure in the Silver State.
A requirement of the egaming regulations in both Nevada and New Jersey, which legalised online gambling last month, is that operators must ensure no bets are taken from out-of-state players. Geolocation establishes a virtual fence around a state’s borders to determine a player’s location.
The addition of the technology is a key step for Bally towards launching online gaming for its US casino clients, of which it has so far signed up just a handful since acquiring the iGaming Platform from Chiligaming last year.
February saw Stratosphere Casino-owner and fellow Nevada online poker licensee American Casino & Entertainment Properties (ACEP) launch its freeplay poker site using the platform, with a real-money version due for launch later this year. The Golden Nugget, which has properties in both Nevada and New Jersey, has also signed up to Bally’s platform and launched a freeplay offering.
Although the software provides content from several suppliers, Bally recently extended its agreement with Amaya Gaming to confirm that Ongame was to become its preferred online poker partner.
GeoComply CEO Anna Sainsbury (pictured) said of the deal: “Using our solutions to ensure that the player is on the right side of the state or provincial line or sovereign nation is only part of the challenge. We also need to do so in a way that does not interfere with the customer experience.”
Bally Technologies vice president of business development John Connelly added: “By entering into this partnership with GeoComply, we will be one of the first licensed suppliers to offer casino operators a fully integrated geolocation solution for their players. This, combined with our ability to easily distribute content to an array of handheld devices, will enable operators to access the majority of their players in real time and address any regulatory concerns.”
