Bertilsson named Metric Gaming CEO
Former Boss Media and Ongame chief executive Peter Betilsson to lead the in-play sportsbook provider following management change
Sportsbook provider Metric Gaming has appointed former Boss Media and Ongame executive Peter Bertilsson as its new president and CEO following a management reshuffle.
Bertilsson had been serving as the firm’s chairman but will now relocate from Stockholm to Las Vegas to become its full-time chief executive, replacing its founder Martin de Knijff who is to assume the role of head of business and product development, while also remaining a director.
“It has been a pleasure serving as Metric’s chairman, and I am thrilled with the opportunity to take over the reins as CEO and help this company reach its full and tremendous potential,” Bertilsson said.
Bertilsson was the CEO of Sweden-based Boss Media between 2001 and 2006, later returning to the gaming industry in February 2010 with bwin Games to lead its poker division, formerly Ongame, before its sale to Amaya Gaming in 2012.
Founded in 2011, Las Vegas-headquartered Metric Gaming supplies live betting technology and has developed the SuperLive in-play betting product that offers micro-markets that settle within 20-90 seconds.
Coral Interactive became the first UK-facing operator to go live with the product in June this year.
